The Cost: About $6 to $7 for a four-pack of 1-pint, .9 ounce bottles; the larger bottles mean the cost per ounce is about the same as other quality imports, or cheaper.

Why you should check it out: This World Beer Cup Winner might be the only Dortmunder Export-style beer on the local market, and it is delicious. A highly drinkable alternative to the pilseners, the tongue-mangling Lithuanian import ( pronounced chevy-TOUR-ees extra) arrived here just in time for summer. With a beautiful head of foam, it pours a warm pale gold and offers a light-to-middling mouth feel, a bready taste with a slight lemon note and nice crisp hops finish.  It should pair well with just about any summer fare. It's 5.2 percent alcohol by volume.

Don't be confused by the word "Ale" printed on the label: This is a lager, but  Texas wrongheaded labeling law requires the brewer to mislead the pubic because of the beer's alcohol content.
